The United States of America, N.A. — Today marks the official launch of Peace Democrats, a new grassroots organizations dedicated to restoring the Democratic Party’s historic role as a voice for peace. Founded by Democratic activists and small-dollar donors, Peace Democrats will work to end U.S. military support for Netanyahu’s campaign of ethnic cleansing in Gaza, reclaim the party’s pro-peace roots, and elect leaders committed to diplomacy, justice, and human rights over militarism.

“The Democratic Party must be the party of peace again,” said the group’s founder. “Right now, too many Democratic leaders are voting to send billions in U.S. tax dollars to bankroll atrocities. We’re here to say: not in our name, not with our money.”

Peace Democrats’ launch centers on a national petition titled “No Military Aid for Ethnic Cleansing” that calls for an immediate halt to U.S. weapons sales, military aid, and diplomatic cover for the Israeli government’s assault on Palestinian civilians. The group will also mobilize grassroots donors to support Democratic candidates who will stand up to lobbyist pressure and vote for peace.

“Peace Democrats is powered entirely by people -- not corporate PACs, not war industry lobbyists,” the founder added. “We’re building a movement that reflects the values of the Democratic base and the will of the majority of Americans who want an end to endless wars.”
